WHAT IS THE “FRENCH TEACHER AWARD”?
The French Teacher Award is a national prize created in 2022 which recognises remarkable success of French language teachers, highlights, honours, and thanks their hard work and commitment to encourage the teaching of French in primary and secondary schools in the United Kingdom.
Every year, one teacher of French in a primary and/or secondary school will be selected for his/her significant and committed contribution to French language instruction in his/her school and community. The winner will be selected by a national jury which will pay attention to:
- the participants’ record of successful teaching at a school, including innovative language teaching and cross curricular activities,
- the participants’ successful introduction of French teaching at a school (e.g., first foreign language or new language),
- the participants’ initiatives to promote good progress and love of learning French.
