I live outside of London but I would like to access French resources – what can I do?

Our free online platform Culturethèque offers over 10,000 e-books, videos and audio clips in French or about France. This service is only available for UK users.
For members, our Europresse online newspaper service contains 1,500 free press titles that you can access with your online account.

If the library is closed, how can I return my documents?

You can renew them through your online account or by contacting us directly. Please note that conditions apply depending on your membership and the type of resources. Items can also be handed to the Reception/Box office in the main entrance hall during the Institut opening hours. You can also send them by post.

I don’t have my online account details. What should I do?

Your username is your email address. Please check your email as you may have received your password upon registering your membership. If that is not the case, simply go to your online account and reset your password. For further help, please contact library@institut-francais.org.uk.

Is it possible to donate documents to La Médiathèque?

Unfortunately, we are not in a position to take book donations at the moment. We may be able to assist you in finding a place to give some of your books away. Please contact us by email (library@institut-francais.org.uk) for further information.

I have items on loan and am unable to bring them back, what should I do?
