On a Fictional Quest to Save the Botanical Garden in Algiers

For the 2023 Francophonie month and the Cambridge Festival, the Alliance Française de Cambridge invites you to explore the fictional account of Algerian writer Sofiane Hadjadj’s novella Un si parfait Jardin (Such a Perfect Garden), published in 2008.

Dr Sura Qadiri is Associate Professor of French at St Catharine’s College in Cambridge. She specialises in contemporary French and francophone literature from North Africa, with a particular interest in the relationship between literary writing and social values.
