A haunted journey through post-war Paris by Nobel prize winning author Patrick Modiano. After losing his memory ten years prior, Guy Roland, now a private detective, embarks on a journey in order to unearth his former identity that will take him from Paris all the way to Polynesia. Who is he, and what happened to him during the occupation? Roland chases after fragments of his past via photos and the half recollections of strangers; and attempts to reconstruct a portrait of the man he may once have been.
