Jane by Charlotte

In her directorial debut, Charlotte Gainsbourg portrays singer, actor, artist, cultural icon and her mother: Jane Birkin. With a subtle nod to Agnès Varda’s Jane B. for Agnes V. (1988), Gainsbourg crafts an intimate portrait of the woman her mother is today, as the pair look back on their lives and delve into the fabric of their relationship. Through the camera lens, they expose themselves to one another and overcome a shared sense of reserve.
