DELF DALF

Schools

Boost your students’ chances with a French diploma
“when it comes to organising and running the exams, it could hardly be easier […] a hugely worthwhile examination at all levels […] DELF is now taken for granted and normal by the top set
pupils” (Martin Fries, Uppingham School)

What are the DELF Junior & DELF Prim?

The DELF (Diplôme d’Etudes en Langue Française) Prim and Junior are the only official French language proficiency qualifications for children and teenagers.
These exams evaluate four skills: listening, reading, speaking, and writing.
There are up to four levels of proficiency to choose from (beginner to advanced).
DELF Prim is for children from 8 to 11 years of age, and DELF Junior for students from 11 to 18.
There are two sessions per year for the DELF Prim, and three sessions per year for the DELF Junior

Why should my students take this exam?

DELF examinations are official proof of your students’ competence in French.
The diploma your students receive is awarded by the French Ministry of Education. It is recognised throughout Europe and beyond.
The DELF Junior is the official gateway to admission into French universities, and features on the UCAS online application form. More and more British universities are taking interest in DELF/DALF examinations.
In the context of a growing demand for languages, it will make your students’ résumés and applications stand out from the crowd, and show that your institution is devoted to academic excellence.
