Meet Cameroonian writer Djaïli Amadou Amal, winner of the Choix Goncourt UK 2020 and the Prix Goncourt des Lycéens for The Impatient (HarperVia, trans. Emma Ramadan) who will talk about African women’s empowerment against the oppressive and long-held cultural traditions that define and limit the lives of too many of them. She will be in conversation with Dr Adina Stroia, Lecturer in French/Franchophone Studies at Newcastle University.
