Simone Veil, A Woman of the Century

French magistrate and politician Simone Veil’s life crosses many of the pivotal events of the Twentieth Century. Olivier Dahan (La Vie en rose) takes us through Veil’s childhood, her deportation to Auschwitz, her tragedies and how this shaped her political will and her sense of social justice. An intimate and epic portrait of an extraordinary woman, beautifully played by Elsa Zylberstein, who eminently challenged and transformed her era, defending women’s rights against all odds, as well as a humanist message still keenly relevant today.
