Rise

26-years old ballerina Elise (Marion Barbeau) is injured after a bad fall on stage and unable to dance for a lengthy period. Initially devastated, Elise slowly rebuilds her hopes, her aspirations and her life through new encounters, notably with real-life Israeli choreographer Hofesh Shechter. Opening with a delightful performance, Rise places real-life Paris Opera Ballet principal ballerina Marion Barbeau at the center of the latest crowd-pleaser from Cédric Klapisch (Potluck, Someone, Somewhere, Call my Agent). In a star-making performance, Barbeau proves every bit as talented an actress on screen as she is a dancer on stage.
