ENVIRONMENT & WILDLIFE

Thu 9 Mar | Ages 5-10 | £6/pupil or £3 film only & free for teachers
10:30am: choose between the 2 following activities:

  • Library Activity (5-7 years old) :
    Listen to some incredible stories about nature, animals and the environments and brush up your French during fun activities!
  • Language Activity (8-10 years old) :
    French is fun and there’s no better way to learn than discovering about nature and environment while talking in French about Ailo’s Journey.

FRENCH ART

10:30am: choose between the 2 following activities:

  • Library Activity (8-10 years old) :
    Are you familiar with the famous French Artists? Our librarians will take you on a fun discovery through the Library collection to learn about French Art.
  • Language Activity (11-13 years old) :
    Brush up your French while discovering more about the main French painters and styles
  • Art Workshop (8-10 years old) :
    Make Art while speaking French: create your own landscape in the style of the landscapes in the film Calamity, A Childhood of Martha Jane Canary through cut out of colourful papers.
    Please note that this activity + film are at £8/pupil

FRENCH CINEMA

  • Library Activity (15-18 years old) :
    Discover the exciting history of French cinema from its beginning to nowadays, researching in the numerous resources available in our Médiatheque.
  • Language Activity (12-14 years old) :
    Before hitting the big screen, Persepolis was a comic book. Work on your French while discovering both worlds created by Marjane Satrapi & Vincent Paronnaud.

    Listen to fun stories about friendship and discover new French words to make friends who speak French!
  • Language Activity (8-10 years old) :
    Do you know the two great friends Ernest & Celestine? This activity will introduce you to their world and who they are during engaging activities about the film.

    During this activity your students will discover the most renowned artists of the French and francophone musical scene!
  • Language Activity (12-14 years old) :
    In France as well we have the Voice on TV and this is where Louanne Emera was discovered before acting in La Famille Belier. Enter the world of French music while shaping up your French.

Young actress and finalist of the Voice France, Louanne Emera, won a Cesar award for her role as Paula, the only hearing member of a deaf family. The Beliers run their farm for a living and Paula, as the ony hearing member acts as interpreter. When Paula’s teacher offers her the opportunity to sit for the entrance exam of a vocal elite choir in Paris, she must choose between her family and her ambitions.

FROM BOOK TO SCREEN

  • Library Activity (9-11 years old) :
    So many books have been adapted onto the big screen. Discover many great books and their magical stories in our Bibliotheque Quentin Blake while working on your French.
  • Language Activity (12-14 years old) :
    Remi sans Famille is a classics in France, so much so it was adapted on TV and for the cinema. Discover this character through fun activities on French.
